About Us

Cruse Bereavement Care exists to promote the well-being of bereaved people and to enable anyone suffering the after effects of a death to understand their grief and cope with their loss. We provide free bereavement support and counselling to anyone living in the Birmingham area, irrespective of age, race, gender, culture, religion, ethnicity and disability.

We also offer regular training days for individuals and are able to deliver bespoke training to larger groups and organisations.

The volunteers who provide this support service receive rigorous and demanding bereavement training. In accordance with best practice, every volunteer is allocated to a trained supervisor so that quality of performance is regularly monitored and expertise enhanced. Volunteers continually receive in-house training, elements of which are obligatory such as Safeguarding Procedures, and this training ensures provision of a quality service.
